The New Globejotting Podcast Has Landed!

Episode One: Betsy and Warren Talbot on Getting Rid of Everything to Travel the World

By Dave Fox

Unfasten your seatbelts! After years of half-hearted “planning,” I have finally gotten my act together and produced the very first episode of the Globejotting Podcast!

Listen right now! Just click the triangular “Play” button.

In episode one, we meet Betsy and Warren Talbot of Married with Luggage. Two years ago, Betsy and Warren sold or gave away virtually everything they owned so they could travel the world indefinitely. They talk about what it was like — physically and emotionally — to liquidate their possessions. They share stories of where they’ve been; explain how they wrangled a free ride on an empty cruise ship from Antarctica to Europe; and share their insights on how you can find the time, the resources, and the courage to pursue your own wildest dreams — whatever those dreams might be.

In their 27 months (and counting) of wandering the world, Betsy and Warren have also published three books to motivate others to do bold things with their lives:

Future episodes of the Globejotting Podcast will feature fun and lively interviews with ordinary people on extraordinary journeys, tips to help you live your own adventures and tell your tales, and lots more cool stuff.

Globejotting on iTunes

Thanks to the help of my pal, Matt Preston at placestogo.travel, the podcast is now available for free on iTunes. To download it and subscribe to future episodes, just open iTunes on your computer or other device, search for “Globejotting” in the iTunes store, and select the “Globejotting Travel Podcast.”

(Or if you want to do me a favor, search for “travel podcast” instead and help it climb in the rankings for those keywords!)

If you use a system other than iTunes to sync podcasts, you will find the feed at http://podcasts.placestogo.travel/feed/podcast/.

Feedback Anybody?

This is my first wobbly step into the world of podcasting. I hope to have more shows coming in 2013. If you’ve got any feedback or suggestions as to what you’d like to hear on future episodes, please drop me an e-mail and let me know.

And if you like what you hear, I’d be wildly grateful if you’d tell your friends! Let them know on Facebook, Twitter, or in a quick e-mail!

Hi, Dave. We loved being part of your inaugural show! You are a great interviewer, and we look forward to subscribing via iTunes to see what kind of juicy info you pull out of your future guests.

Betsy… it was delightful launching my inaugural episode with your fun words of wisdom! It’d be great to have you guys back periodically for short segments on where in the world you have stumbled to lately.

    Hi, Dave,

Congratulations on getting your podcast up and running! How great that your first guests were Warren and Betsy! I’ve been following their adventures with great interest. You make me laugh, and they inspire me. It’s a great combination! (I like exclamation points!)

Joan! I like exclamation points too! It is fun to follow Warren and Betsy’s adventures! And apparently, they don’t mind being stalked like that!
