In my latest blog post for SilverKris and Singapore Airlines, I recount an experience I had in 1996 as a rookie tour guide in Italy. On a blustery night with a sideways rain, I discovered that sometimes, cultural familiarity has little to do with where we come from or what our native tongue happens to be.

You can read the full story on the SilverKris website.

[The title on currently reads as “Tiramisu and Cinzano.” This was a mistake on my part. We were drinking Campari, not Cinzano. I’ve asked the editors at SilverKris to change this.]
