Vietnam Video Diaries: Vietnamese Money

(and what I’ve been up to lately)

Money in Vietnam can be baffling for newcomers. There are so many different banknotes … all with lots and lots of zeros!

With one US dollar equalling 21,946 (on the day I recorded this), you have to think fast when converting currency.

I’ve just moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, after visiting as a tourist, a tour guide, and a travel writer for many years. This is my first one-take video diary from Saigon. (One take meaning I don’t get to re-shoot anything if I mess up. And I almost broke stuff.) It talks about Vietnamese money, as well as what I’ve been up to lately and some exciting new things around the new Globejotting Saigon Headquarters.
