Things I Do When I’m Jetlagged

By Dave Fox

Still partially on European time yesterday, I was fighting severe fatigue in the mid-afternoon. Perhaps a boost in blood sugar would help. I went to the fridge to make a sandwich, and pulled out five basic ingredients:

1) Rye bread
2) Ham
3) Cheese
4) Mayo
5) Lettuce

I made my sandwich, put everything back in the fridge, found a seat on my living room couch, started to eat my sandwich, and realized I had forgotten to get something to drink. When I returned to the refrigerator for a mineral water, I discovered I had put six things back in the fridge when I was done making my sandwich:

1) Rye bread
2) Ham
3) Cheese
4) Mayo
5) Lettuce
6) Cell phone

I realized at that moment I didn’t need a sandwich. I needed a nap.

I once found my jacket and my boots in the fridge on a saturday morning. There was no beer left.
